Coming Right Along!

Little Desert Animals is about to be the sweetest patch of desert on the internet! We’re adding new stuff daily and we have lots more to share: photos, paintings, prints, antiques, so much jewelry and we’re about to premier Patty’s new line of handmade leather bags and accessories! That’s not even half of it; you may be amazed to see how many adorable accoutrements we’ll soon be offering. Looking good takes time so stick around and watch our little desert bloom!

Mighty Fine

Saturday: The desert is GORGEOUS. The sky is that awesome blue color that only happens out here. There’s big puffy clouds and it’s 79° F. We’ve been outside with the dogs much of the day enjoying our dirt, rocks and sky. The Sawtooth Mountains are basking in mightiness…

Grub Out

I don’t recall how long it’s been since the curved bill thrashers built their stick house by our back door. I think they’ve hatched at least three clutches of chicks so I guess we’ve been housemates for a few years now. Apparently spring is here early because we already have new peepers in the nest!

This morning I caught mama bird digging grubs for her chicks. It seems we have a rich supply in our leftover dirt pile…

Fog And Fur

Tuesday: Wet and rainy most of the day. A heavy fog lay across the desert in the early morning then lifted after a few hours. Patty spent the day handling handles. That’s a bad pun about fine bag making but she did spend the day sewing up leather bag handles. Guy worked on web stuff and made some drawings. Later in the day the sky cleared a little and these dudes started showing up everywhere…

Look at our bloomers…

Monday: It got cold. High of only 64 °F today !!! It’s also cloudy and definitely going to rain. Guy is working on the website all morning then tinkering in the shop this afternoon. It’s only 5:00 AM; Patty has yet to divulge her intentions. I’m guessing she’s making leather bags all day.

Yesterday Patty spotted Lupine and golden poppy coming up along the roadside! We’ll soon be heading out to the hinterlands for some wildflower photography; so stay tuned to this channel.

It should be a great photo season thanks to above average precipitation this winter. We’ll be making several outings before the weather heats up in late May which should make this a very colorful blog 🙂
